There can be nothing more annoying than your car windows fogging up with seemingly no hope in getting them to properly clear while you’re driving. Window fogging occurs when warm and humid air mixes with a cool surface. When you get into your car on a chilly morning, the heat of your breath comes into contact with the windshield, which will collect as condensation on the glass.

Another cause of window fogging could be extra moisture in your car. If you’re someone who has car cleaning on the very bottom of your regular to-do list, this may be plaguing you. Damp seats, used coffee cups, discarded food, etc. is all heated by the sun in your car and the interior begins to act like a greenhouse, but with no ventilation, the water collects on the windshield.

The most common causes of interior car moisture include wet clothes, shoes, or books, breath, leaky doors or windows, hot food and beverages, and coolant leaks into the vehicle. If you’re ready to get rid of car condensation once and for all, there are a few different approaches you can take. The main thing to do to get rid of condensation is to make the air less humid by turning on the defroster as soon as you get into your car.

Easy enough, but what if simply turning on the defrost button doesn’t take care of your more long term moisture problems?

With fall on its way in, we’ll be expecting foggy windows galore over the next few months. Keep your car running clear and safely all seasons by visiting a Meineke franchise in your area today!
